Behind the Blooms: From Childhood Memories to her Bridal Bouquet

Some floral designs are special because of the flowers themselves. Others are special because of the person they are created for.

Last June, I had the incredible honor of creating a bridal bouquet for someone who has been a part of my life since childhood - my childhood best friend.

We grew up together, went to every school together - even attending the same college and nursing program. So many of my favorite memories are intertwined with hers: growing up side by side, sharing different seasons of life, and experiencing so many milestones together. As life often does, our paths eventually became a little less connected after we both graduated, and we lost touch over the years.

So when she reached out to ask if I would create her bridal bouquet, it was a moment that felt incredibly special.

There was something so nostalgic and heartwarming about reconnecting and talking through her wedding vision. We may have been discussing flowers, colors, and design, but in many ways, it felt like reconnecting with a piece of our shared history. The memories of growing up together were still there, and being able to create something for such an important moment in her life was an honor I will always cherish.

Her vision was classic, timeless, and incredibly elegant. We designed a bouquet filled with soft white blooms, accented with delicate touches of baby yellow. The color palette was subtle and romantic, creating something that felt both traditional and uniquely hers.

Seeing the final bouquet in person was an especially meaningful moment for me. It didn't just feel like a beautiful arrangement of flowers, it felt like her. The finished design embodied the person I knew, the woman she had grown into, and somehow, it also felt like holding a small piece of all those childhood memories we shared.

I found myself thinking about the kinds of things we used to talk about as kids, the innocent, imaginative conversations about the future, the things we would one day have, and the weddings we would someday dream about without really knowing what any of it would look like. There was something incredibly special about holding her bouquet years later, knowing that the little girl I grew up with had grown into the woman whose wedding I was now creating flowers for.

Seeing glimpses of her wedding day and the bouquet in its final setting was incredibly special. There was something surreal about seeing the vision we had discussed become part of a real day that marked such an important chapter of her life.

Creating wedding flowers is always an honor, but this bouquet carried something extra special for me. It held years of memories, friendship, growing up, and the beautiful reminder that even when life takes people in different directions, some connections remain incredibly meaningful.

I will always be grateful that she trusted me with such an important part of her wedding day. And I will always cherish the memories we shared growing up together.

To create her bouquet after knowing her for so many years felt like a beautiful full-circle moment: one that I will never forget.
