Behind the Blooms: A Winter Proposal to Remember

There’s something so special about being trusted with one of the biggest surprises in someone’s life. Late in 2025, we had the opportunity to help bring a very special proposal to life — and this one was truly a labor of love from beginning to end.

The groom-to-be came to us with a vision for the perfect setting, and we worked together to design the entire experience. From the floral details to the candles, lanterns, greenery, and overall atmosphere, every element was thoughtfully planned to create something romantic, intimate, and completely unforgettable.

And then came setup day.

When we say it was freezing, we mean freezing. The kind of cold where your hands start going numb and you question every life decision that led you to be standing outside working with flowers. But as floral designers, we’ve learned that sometimes the weather simply doesn’t get a vote.

We spent the day bringing the design to life outdoors, carefully placing each detail and creating a warm, romantic space against the backdrop of although a very cold winter afternoon - a stunning one nonetheless. The ceremony-style arbor was dressed with lush winter greenery, delicate flowers, berries, and pops of deep red, while lanterns and candles lined the space to add that beautiful glow as the sun began to set.

The groom was an absolute breeze to work with throughout the entire process. He trusted our ideas, was so easy to communicate with, and made designing the whole setup such a fun experience. There’s something especially rewarding about working with someone who is just as excited about the final vision as you are.

And then, of course, came the moment we had been waiting for.

Seeing the photographs afterward and seeing how genuinely happy they both were made every frozen finger completely worth it. The photos captured exactly what we had hoped to create - a romantic, intimate setting that felt magical without taking away from the moment itself.

But our job didn’t end when the question was popped.

After the proposal, we returned to break everything down and carefully packed everything away, leaving the space exactly as we had found it - like we were never even there. That behind-the-scenes part of event design often goes unnoticed, but for us, it’s just as important as the setup itself. We want our clients to be able to fully enjoy the moment without worrying about what comes next.

This proposal was such a beautiful reminder of why we love what we do at Rosie’s Floral Design. We don’t just create flowers - we get to help create the setting for some of life’s most meaningful moments.

And yes… we would absolutely freeze our hands off all over again for this one.
