Behind the Blooms: A Charleston Wedding We'll Never Forget

Some weddings are beautiful because of the flowers.

Others are beautiful because of the people.

This Charleston wedding was both.

From the moment we began planning with our incredible bride, we knew this celebration would be something special. Being based in Massachusetts meant every detail had to be thoughtfully planned months in advance. Every linen color, charger, runner, candle, and bloom had to be chosen without being able to see everything together until wedding week.

Like many design processes, it wasn't perfect on the first try, and that's exactly what made it so rewarding.

Working alongside our bride and the incredible planners at Love Evermore Events, we spent countless hours exchanging ideas and testing different combinations of linens, runners, and chargers until every element felt just right. The final palette struck the perfect balance: timeless, romantic, and elegant with a modern edge. Black textured chargers, crisp white linens, glowing candlelight, and soft white roses created a design that felt effortlessly sophisticated.

Looking at the finished reception, you'd never know how many thoughtful decisions went into creating such a seamless look.

One of the most rewarding parts of this wedding was collaborating with an entirely new team of vendors. Since we were traveling out of state, we worked with a wholesale florist we'd never used before, adapting to different flower availability and learning a new workflow. We also didn't have access to our usual studio supplies, tools, or workspaces—the little things florists become so accustomed to having nearby.

But that's one of our favorite parts of this job.

Creativity isn't about having every comfort available—it's about making beautiful things wherever you are. With a little flexibility and a lot of teamwork, we transformed fresh blooms into lush arrangements that looked as though they'd been designed right at home.

And then...Charleston decided to surprise us.

When we booked the wedding, forecasts called for a beautiful spring weekend in the upper 70s.

Instead, wedding day greeted us with temperatures climbing into the high 90s.

For florists, heat isn't just uncomfortable - it's one of the biggest challenges we face. Every arrangement was carefully transported in a rented vehicle, constantly monitored, hydrated, and kept cool whenever possible. We intentionally waited until the very last possible moment to place the florals on the outdoor reception tables, ensuring every bloom looked as fresh for the first dance as it did when we designed it.

Sometimes the most important work happens in the moments guests never see.

One of those moments happened just before the ceremony. An unexpected leaf blower from the grounds crew sent leaves and debris across the ceremony space after everything had already been prepared. Without hesitation, our team jumped into action, making sure every chair, aisle, and floral arrangement looked picture-perfect before guests arrived.

It's those small acts behind the scenes that help create a day that feels effortless.

We also couldn't imagine this wedding without the incredible team at Love, Evermore Events. Richelle and Nicole’s organization, communication, and calm presence made every moving piece fall perfectly into place. Working alongside planners who genuinely care about every detail makes all the difference, and they helped create an experience that felt smooth, joyful, and stress-free for everyone involved.

As the sun began to set over Charleston, the reception transformed into something magical.

Twinkling café lights stretched overhead, candlelight flickered across every table, and delicate white roses floated among glass hurricanes and bud vases. The contrast of crisp white florals against the black chargers created a look that was bold yet timeless, while every glowing candle added warmth to the evening. It was romantic without feeling overdone, classic, intimate, and full of charm.

Looking across the courtyard, every table invited guests to sit, celebrate, and stay awhile.

It's easy to admire the finished photographs - and trust us, we do too - but what those photos don't show are the months of planning, the hundreds of design decisions, the unexpected challenges, the heat, the teamwork, and the passion that made them possible.

This wedding reminded us that beautiful events aren't created because everything goes perfectly.

They're created because talented people come together, adapt, support one another, and pour their hearts into every single detail.

Charleston, thank you for giving us a wedding we'll never forget.

And to our beautiful couple, thank you for trusting Rosie's Floral Design to be part of your story. It was an honor to bring your vision to life, and we hope every time you look back at these photos, you're reminded not only of how beautiful your day was, but of how deeply loved you were by everyone who helped make it happen.

Here's to many more adventures, wherever the flowers take us next.
